Waste Management & Research Invites Submissions for Its Open Access Debut

For the last 20 years, Waste Management & Research (WM&R) has worked on promoting innovation, bridging a gap between both research and practicing industries. Now the WM&R Editorial Group is pleased to announce a momentous initiative to incorporate partial open access and invites academics and researchers to submit their latest publications.

13 Apr 2018 -

Waste Management & Research has been a knowledge platform for both academics and industry professionals alike with many subscribers in: universities, governments, private industries, engineering, management, urban planning, and public health.  Now, momentous changes are coming to WM&R and the Editorial Group is pleased to announce plans for an Open Access Supplement in January 2019.

Therefore, for the journal’s partial open access debut, the Editorial Group puts forward a submission call for papers from a wide range of topics to cover all possible new subjects of interest and approaches in the field. Your contribution can be in the form of an original paper, review, or mini-review.  Some topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Marine litter and microplastic pollution
  • Circular economy and its implications on 3R
  • Waste management challenges in developing countries
  • China's ban on recyclables and its global effect
  • 4th Industrial revolution and its relevance to waste management
  • Design for Sustainability and its impact in the circular economy
  • Waste management approaches in the new "Smart Cities"
  • Sustainability Innovations & Research and Development

A selection of the accepted papers will be published in the first open access supplement of WM&R in January 2019. All other accepted papers will be published in regular issues but specially marked under, "Hot issues in the waste management field," in one of the proceeding issues of WM&R in 2019. There are no associated costs in submitting to WM&R

The deadline for submission is July 1st 2018.
