Education and Training
ISWA’s objective is to promote and develop professional waste and resource management worldwide and to be the centre of expertise concerning sustainable waste management at the global level. An important vehicle ISWA uses to reach this objective is by providing comprehensive and effective Training & Education.
ISWA has for some years carried out ad hoc training courses and workshops around the world through its various Working Groups and often in co-operation with other actors. Comprehensive training material has been produced and has been translated into different languages with the aim of disseminating information around the world.
ISWA’s Study Tours offer professional learning and practical insight into waste management operations. Study Tours are comprised of quality lectures by senior experts in waste management, environmental policy, and engineering, coupled with site visits to state-of-the-art waste treatment facilities representing Best Available Techniques.
Check the ISWA Calendar to find out about the next available Study Tour. If you are a group interested in taking part in a Study Tour other than those currently offered ISWA would be happy to organise a specialised programme tailored to your needs.
ISWA’s Summer School has been established in co-operation with renowned universities to support students and employees who are seeking continuing education to gain both practical and theoretical knowledge, whilst offering a unique networking opportunity with other highly motivated students from all over the world.
