After serving as the leading figure of ISWA´s scientific journal Waste Management & Research, Prof. Agamuthu Pariatamby handed over the position as Senior Editor in Chief to Prof. Anke Bockreis at the end of 2021.
During his period of service as Senior Editor in Chief the publication sector as such as well as the journal itself developed a lot. Open Access publication became a very important issue in academic publishing that journals had to acknowledge for and cope with. Based on a Strategy and Vision for ISWA´s journal WM&R many ways to include Open Access elements have been identified and incorporated to increase the share of Open Access content in WM&R.
