SUMMARY:As Singularidades e Oportunidades
DESCRIPTION:It is with great joy that APESB (National Member of ISWA for Portugal)\, the Municipality of Bragança\, and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança invite you to participate in the 13th International Technical Waste Conference (JTIR)\, which will take place from November 15 to 18\, 2023\, in the city of Bragança. \nThe waste sector as a whole finds itself in a context of transformation in line with the environmental objectives planned for the territories in which it operates. \nThe special theme of the event\, “Singularities and Opportunities\,” aims to intersect the peculiarities of waste and water management entities\, the specifics of each management model\, with the peculiarities of territories in terms of demographics\, economics\, and social aspects. With this theme\, we intend to prospectively analyze the opportunities created by the identified singularities\, assuming that\, just as in natural systems\, diversity is the foundation of more resilient communities. The event will take place in a territory full of opportunities created by differences\, the potential for multi-level research and development of solutions\, the circularity of secondary raw materials\, and precision technology in the preservation of natural resources. A modern\, resource-efficient\, and competitive economy leaves no one\, and no region\, behind. This significant challenge cannot be achieved with independent sectoral strategies. It is necessary to promote the symbiotic evolution of the waste and water sector with the agriculture\, livestock\, and forestry sectors. Only in this way can circular value models be conceived and developed. \n \n Find out more
