Let us know you are coming via events@iswa.org or members@iswa.org.  \nActivities\nDuring the exhibition we will organise two main activities which you are welcome to join: \n\n9 November\, 3.00 – 5.00 PM CETNetworking drinksISWA Booth\n\n \n\n10 November\, 10.00 – 11.30 AM CETSide event on the Harmonization on Waste in EuropeThe Green Room (Sala Verde) in the South Hall\n\n			 \n			 \n				\n				\n			 \n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Harmonization on Waste side event \nHarmonisation and standardisation in waste collection is a hot topic in the EU right now. The current recycling targets established in the context of the revision of the Waste Framework Directive and the Circular Economy Action plan demand adaptations and improvements in the system to meet them. \nISWA organised an (online) event with the ISWA European Group to discuss harmonisation and standardisation of waste collection and has come up with the following points: \n\nWe all agree that some kind of harmonised labelling / pictogram system is good\, – but not (necessarily) including colours. The Scandinavian/Nordic system can be a model for Europe\nCollaboration between producers\, packers and fillers as well as the municipalities and waste management companies will give the best and most effective result for both the citizens and the industry\nWe need standardisation in terms of waste streams and quality.  also taking customer (industry) quality demands into account\nWaste collection systems in terms of waste fractions\, bin colours\, frequency etc. – must be decided locally\nDigital solutions both for products\, packaging and waste collection equipment are coming quickly\, rapid technological development as well as EU regulations\nWe need standardisation in terms of waste SORTING streams and quality.\n\nTo sum up; yes to harmonisation and standardisation. but no to details in the regulations. \nAt the ISWA Session\, we would like to have a discussion with stakeholders to understand their perspective on these issues and touch upon the considerations to move forward with such system. \n			 \n				\n				\n				\n			\n			 \n				\n				\n			 \n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Ecomondo the benchmark event in Europe for technological and industrial innovation for circular economy \nEcomondo is the leading Euro-Mediterranean area green and circular economy expo.
