ENVIRONTEC, powered by ÖKOINDUSTRIA, is an international trade exhibition focusing on environmental technologies, infrastructure development, and waste and water management. Held in Budapest, the event serves as a professional meeting point for Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe, bringing together companies, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners engaged in the transition toward more sustainable systems.
The exhibition provides an overview of current developments in both the Hungarian and international environmental industries, while offering a platform for professional exchange and the initiation of cross-border cooperation within the region.
Alongside the exhibition, ENVIRONTEC hosts a strong conference programme developed in close cooperation with the Hungarian Association of Environmental Enterprises, National ISWA Member. These conferences address key regulatory, technological, and operational challenges, including the Circular Economy Summit, industrial emissions in the European Union, environmental challenges and solutions in Central and South-Eastern Europe, municipal water management, and remediation in Eastern and Central Europe and the Western Balkans.

Landfilling – the ultimate solution? 8 October 2026 | 10:00–15:00 (GMT+1)
This conference examines the role of landfilling within contemporary waste management systems, with a focus on technical, legal, and economic instruments to reduce disposal and align practice with circular economy objectives. Sessions will cover BAT requirements, landfill design, operation and aftercare, environmental impact management, reclamation, and the potential of landfills as waste treatment facilities and sources of secondary raw materials. The programme includes an open Regional Chapter meeting with the participation of the leadership of the ISWA Landfill Working Group, offering ISWA members a global perspective on current trends alongside an in-depth discussion of regional challenges and forthcoming priorities.
