ISWA Italy Study Tour 2026

Early bird fees will be available until 15 February 2026.
Overall registration will close 15 March 2026.
Organised by the ISWA Working Group on Recycling and Waste Minimisation in collaboration with ATIA ISWA Italia and Politecnico di Milano, this exclusive study tour offers up to 25 waste management professionals an insider’s view of one of Europe’s most advanced integrated recycling systems.
Through expert lectures, interactive discussions, and guided visits to leading facilities in northern Italy, participants will explore the full cycle of recycling and recovery — from packaging and textile waste to WEEE treatment — along with complementary recovery solutions that define effective resource management.
Drawing on over three decades of European excellence in recycling and circular economy innovation, the programme blends academic insight with hands-on experience. Participants will develop practical skills to:
  • Structure sustainable recycling systems within modern policy frameworks
  • Design, finance, and operate small to medium-scale recovery facilities
  • Implement efficient collection strategies for municipal and commercial waste
  • Manage residual and hazardous waste in line with best practices
This immersive experience equips professionals to adapt Europe’s proven circular economy models to their own local or regional contexts.
