Webinar: Textiles in the Focus – How Extended Producer Responsibility can enable a circular economy for the sector

From 1 January 2025, all EU Member States must collect textile waste separately under the revised Waste Framework Directive. Yet the current textile-waste management system is already under severe pressure:
– Sharply increasing volumes,
– Declining quality of collected textiles, and
– An economic model that can no longer cope with today’s realities.
This raises a key question:
Can Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) — now emerging as the new mandatory framework for textiles — stabilise and transform the system, or will it require a complete restructuring of the textile value chain?

In this webinar, leading voices from across the sector — including EURATEX, fashion brands / retailers, and municipal representatives — will share their perspectives on what an effective textile-EPR scheme should look like:
– How financing and responsibilities should be structured,
– Which incentives are needed for eco-design, reuse, and high-quality recycling, and
– How EPR can help clean up the current system and support a transition toward a true circular textile economy.
Join us to understand the opportunities, risks, and critical design choices for the upcoming EPR framework — and how it can address today’s challenges while shaping tomorrow’s sustainable textile sector.
