On April 1st Leonie started as our new Event Manager

17 Apr 2020 -

We thought it would be nice for our new team member to introduce herself and therefore she has written a letter:

Dear New Waste Colleagues,

My name is Leonie Hoogland, BSc. in European Studies and happy to call Utrecht, The Netherlands my home.

My background is in event management, for over 7 years I have been responsible for event management at multiple large international companies in the IT and Oil & Gas industry. These events included global training events, European roadshows, live-streams, seminars and trade-shows. These roles have allowed me to know every aspect of event management, from promotion to execution and reporting, and I am looking forward to implementing this knowledge in my new role.

As of this April I will be the new events manager of ISWA, replacing Georgina Nitzsche. I am excited to start at ISWA. With Covid-19 impacting our members my role will start of slightly different, not being able to meet face to face, but bringing people together to learn and share knowledge still remains important and there are ample of opportunities to do so in other ways such as online.

On a personal note, I am a big fan of live music, long walks and hikes and watching the sun descend into the horizon. I am curious and love to explore. I have lived in England, Wales, Spain and Mexico for short amounts of time and have traveled through South America.

I would like to personally thank Georgina Nitzsche for giving me such a fantastic start by dedicating numerous extra hours to ensure that I have everything I need. I have some big shoes to fill but am so grateful for her guidance these past few weeks.

Kind Regards,
