Last week the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) released their Food Waste Index (FWI) for 2021.
Our ISWA experts present their take on the report in light of the information garnered from ISWA’s own Global Assessment of Municipal Organic Waste Production. They emphasise the role of organic waste management and recycling to tackle food waste and loss, to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goal 12.3 (to halve global food waste by 2030).
