Hi IWSA Family!
After the warm welcome I received in my first few days at ISWA, I am happy to introduce myself to the ISWA community.
I am born and raised in the Netherlands. I studied commercial economics and this is when I first came in contact with the world of waste management. This was not planned, but it turned out to be true love. The variety of working with lots of different people, the challenges that are occurring at the end of the chain and the new dynamics that come with the circular economy and the need for reusing materials from the waste streams makes that I enjoy working in this field.
I am joining ISWA as a secondee. I am looking forward to get to know the international world of waste management and put my skill to good use and learn a lot.
In my daily life I am working as a policy advisor at NV Haagse Milieu Services (HMS), the collector of household waste for the residents of the municipality of The Hague. In my work I am focusing on working together to achieve sustainability goals and getting ready for the future of waste management.
In my spare time, I love to spend time outdoors and I also enjoy learning new skills. If I am not busy with these or meeting my friends, you will find me somewhere reading a book with a cup of tea.
I am very much looking forward to the coming year and working with you.
