The development of waste management systems and the achievement of goals bring a series of challenges in ecological, economic, and technological terms, which will be discussed at our symposium. To address the challenges of implementing systems, new solutions in the sector are required more than ever, through the application of new technologies, digitization, and the use of AI, new approaches to achieving circular economy and green transition goals. The connection between the waste management sector and the energy sector, due to global events, is becoming a crucial point of the system that needs to be discussed. Within the symposium, special attention will be given to product manufacturers who, through extended producer responsibility, become an important part of the waste management system and participants in achieving the goals of the circular economy.
The aim of this symposium is to find quality solutions for these pressing issues through the cooperation of the scientific and professional sectors, as well as the economic and municipal sectors, addressing all categories of waste management from the perspective of waste management principles, waste management hierarchy, circular economy, green and digital transition, and environmental protection.
