ISWA Welcomes CHWMEG as our Newest Silver Member

Feb 7, 2024 | ISWA news

ISWA is delighted to welcome CHWMEG as our latest Silver Member.

Since its incorporation in 1995, CHWMEG, Inc. has emerged as the leader in supporting global organizations relating to waste and recycling vendor management.  CHWMEG’s facility review reports provide comprehensive environmental management and risk information on waste treatment, storage, disposal, and recycling facilities (TSDRFs) explicitly designated by CHWMEG’s members.

The CHWMEG facility review reports are considered the gold standard for proving information critical to supply chain due diligence evaluation efforts, vital aspects of sustainability programs, and ESG reporting.  Combining the value of CHWMEG’s comprehensive TSDRF information with the fractional cost members pay to obtain reports yields tremendous cost savings while simultaneously achieving best management practices. CHWMEG membership includes 315+ member organizations, representing over 950 entities worldwide. Members have benefitted from more than 6,300 CHWMEG facility reviews conducted at over 2,200 unique facilities in 56 countries.  CHWMEG audits waste vendors and its membership is limited to waste producers, excluding commercial waste TSDRFs.

CHWMEG reports strengthen members’ waste and spent materials vendor risk management programs, replacing the need to send their employees to visit the TSDRF facilities and gather the information required.   If your organization is a manufacturing or industrial concern, provides communications services, or is an educational/research institution, implementing effective supply chain stewardship programs is essential.  Supply chain vendor auditing is becoming a legal requirement for manufacturers in the EU, California, and a growing number of other locations.  CHWMEG reports provide the vast bulk of the information necessary to meet these requirements for downstream due diligence by its members. Additionally, organizations face increased internal and external stakeholder pressures to commit to responsible supply chain activities. Does your organization have the resources necessary? Learn more about how CHWMEG membership is the most effective resource for your vendor risk information.

“As an international organization dedicated to waste stewardship focusing on industrial waste, CHWMEG anticipates new challenges arising from more stringent due diligence requirements across the EU and in other countries. We are eager to discuss within ISWA how these changes impact waste producers and waste management facilities. A productive dialogue addressing the new regulatory landscape must involve both business sides”.
