Hi everyone! My name is Madelene Nitzsche, and I am thrilled about the opportunity to be ISWA’s communications intern for the next 3 months.
Currently, I am in my second year studying Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam, but my background is in design and sustainability. In 2019 I obtained a higher technical diploma in interior- and digital design and subsequently spent a year working for the Climate Alliance in Austria. Over the years I have interned in the communications branch at international and independent organizations, including stints at ISWA in 2016 and 2018.
A little bit about me; I love to explore different thought avenues as well as travel and try new things. However, you will also find me equally happy with hot tea inside on a rainy day. I like to look at the bright side of life, so I tend to put a positive and personal spin on things.
Until July 2023 I will be mainly focused on optimizing and maintaining ISWA’s communication channels as well as conducting research for ISWA based on communication theories. I will be working most closely with the lovely Saaiqa Merali, who I am very excited to collaborate with and learn from.
