The Foundation for the Development of Northern Montenegro, established in 2006 as a non-governmental organisation, focuses on sustainable development, environmental protection, and civil society strengthening. Specialising in waste management and circular economy promotion, they implement projects involving equipment procurement, training, media campaigns, and public education.
Key goals through ISWA membership are:
- Strengthening the professional capacities of their organisation and partners by engaging in ISWA working groups and educational programs.
- Developing and implementing modern, sustainable solutions for waste management and transitioning to a circular economy, aligned with European and global standards.
- Networking with key stakeholders from the public, private, and civil sectors to create opportunities for joint projects and international collaboration.
- Promoting environmental protection and raising awareness about proper waste management practices in Montenegro.
- Accessing resources, tools, and knowledge-sharing platforms while showcasing their achievements and expertise on an international stage.
Key Details:
- Partners: Collaboration with local authorities, ministries, utility companies, NGOs, and international donors (EU, USAID, UNDP).
- Activities: Project implementation, training, conferences, study visits, research, and environmental campaigns.
- Team: Four experienced members with expertise in project management and environmental protection.
Vision: To become a leader in Montenegro’s sustainable development through innovative projects and institutional capacity-building.
