Coming from an academic background and currently at a transitional stage in shaping my future career path, being paired with my mentor, Shadiya Al Hashmi, has been a particularly meaningful experience for me. This mentorship came at a time when I was actively exploring different directions, and her guidance provided both clarity and confidence as I navigated this process.
What I found especially valuable was her extensive experience in real-world implementation. Through our conversations, she offered practical insights that complemented my academic training, helping me bridge the gap between theory and practice. She also shared a range of perspectives and possible career pathways, encouraging me to think more broadly about my future and to consider opportunities I had not previously explored.
On a more personal level, I greatly appreciated her emphasis on developing soft and leadership skills. She provided thoughtful advice on communication, adaptability, and professional presence areas that are sometimes overlooked in academic settings but are essential in any professional environment.
