IFAT Delhi 2026

IFAT Delhi has been bringing together professionals and experts from various sectors of the water, sewage, waste and recycling industry, providing the entire industry with a platform for knowledge exchange, networking and the opportunity to forge partnerships between industry players, policy makers and environmental experts.

The show is also characterized by its comprehensive conference program, where industry experts exchange insights on current environmental issues and trends by sharing and presenting their knowledge and experiences with the community.

ICWM and ISWA are holding a policy panel session titled
“Regulate, Recover, Revolutionize: India’s SWM 2026 Playbook and beyond”, on the 23rd of April 2026, 17:00-18:00.

The session will explain key provisions of SWM Rules 2026, including mandatory four-stream segregation (wet, dry, sanitary, special care waste) and Extended Bulk Waste Generator Responsibility. Discuss the implications for stakeholders, alongside cross-cutting themes such as the Circular Economy (CE), Critical Raw Materials (CRMs) recovery, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Foster dialogue on policy narratives, informal sector integration, and implementation challenges.

Speaker Dr Vivek Agrawal
Trustee Secretary of the Center for Development Communication (CDC). He pioneered the micro-entrepreneur model of decentralized solid waste management in India, which began as a 1994 pilot and has expanded to over 35 integrated projects nationwide.
Speaker Mr. Jai Kumar Gaurav
Project Manager- Climate Change and Circular Economy, GIZ India
Speaker Ms. Swati Singh Sambyal
Senior policy analyst and circular economy expert with over 15 years of experience across the Global South. As Principal Expert (Pollution) at GRID-Arendal, she leads projects and interventions on circular economy, plastics, and just transition, including engagement in the INC negotiations on the global plastics treaty. 
Moderator Mr. Kartik Kapoor
Kartik Kapoor is a waste management and circular economy expert with over 10 years of experience in projects for UNEP, World Bank, GIZ, and UN-Habitat. He is also Chair of ISWA’s Young Professionals Group for 2026, his work spans marine litter prevention, EPR policy, and city-level waste planning across Asia and Africa.
