The overarching theme of the Conference is “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”. The Conference aims to support further and urgent action to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development and identify further ways and means to support the implementation of SDG 14.
The French Solid Waste Partnership, ISWA’s National Member in France, will be organisinga side-event on 9 June at the Archipel Pavilion- La Baleine, followed by the Clean Ocean Initiative celebration and signature.
Amongst esteemed speakers will also be ISWA’s Technical Lead Representative, Mostafa Ahmed, who will be giving a presentation highlighting the benefits of transitioning to circularity, as outlined in the GWMO, and link those insights to the goal of ending plastic pollution in oceans through ISWA’s key messages for INC-5.
