2026 ISWA Awards

 

Each year ISWA honours excellent efforts and creative ideas that increase public awareness and promote sustainable waste management. Each award is chosen by a panel of volunteers and leaders within the ISWA community and honoured at the ISWA World Congress Closing Ceremony.

2026 Video Award

Submissions for the 2026 ISWA Video Award are open! Please refer to the Terms and Conditions before submitting your video campaign.

 

1st place winner will receive 750 euros cash + free full pass to the 2026 ISWA World Congress + free one-year ISWA Individual membership.

2nd place winner will receive 250 euros cash + free one-year ISWA Individual membership.

3rd place winner will win a free one-year ISWA Individual membership.

    2026 Publication Award

    The ISWA Publication Award has been designed to honour either a publication, article or book, which is deemed to be exceptional in its contribution to the field of Solid Waste Management.

    Submissions for the 2026 ISWA Publication Award are now open! Please refer to the Terms and Conditions before submitting your video campaign.

    The first-place winner will receive a ticket to the 2026 ISWA World Congress and have their article published in ISWA’s Scientific Journal, Waste Management & Research.

      2025 Publication Award Winner

      The 2025 ISWA Publication Award winner is “Planning For Zero-Waste At Schools – A toolkit” by Adeline Mertenat and Christian Zurbrugg.

       

      2026 Communication Award

      The ISWA Communication Award has been designed to honour excellent waste communication campaigns that increase public awareness and promote sustainable waste management.

      Submissions for the 2026 ISWA Communication Award are now open! Please refer to the Terms and Conditions before submitting your video campaign.

      First place winner will be awarded:

      • A full pass to the 2026 ISWA World Congress
      • A symbolic award, delivered at the 2026 ISWA World Congress.
      • The right to use a special ISWA commemorative logo.
      • The possibility to present the awarded campaign at the ISWA World Congress.
