ISWA Board

The ISWA board meets multiple times per year. Within the authorities assigned to it by the General Assembly, the Statutes and the Internal Regulations, the ISWA Board is responsible for all policies, finances and operations of ISWA.

The Board consists of:
• President: serves a two-year term; can be re-elected once.
• Vice President: serves a two-year term; can be re-elected twice.
• Treasurer: serves a two-year term; can be re-elected twice
• Scientific and Technical Committee Chair: serves a four-year term; can be re-elected once.
• 2 National Member Representatives: serve a two-year term; can be re-elected twice.
• 2 Organisation Member representatives: serve a two-year term; can be re-elected twice.
• 3 Regional Development Network representatives: serve a two-year term; can be re-elected twice

 

ISWA Scientific and Technical Committee (STC)

The Scientific and Technical Committee (STC) is governed by its Chair and the current Chairs of the ten ISWA Working Groups. The role of the STC is to conduct and coordinate the technical work of ISWA. The actions of the STC are based on its own objectives and annual work program, as well as the work programs of the Working Groups.

The key means through which the STC achieves its objectives are the ISWA Project Grant; the Knowledge Base; ISWA Papers; Conferences, Workshops and other events; and the International Waste Manager Programme. The current priority themes of the STC include Climate Change & Waste Management; Recycling & Waste Minimisation; Globalisation & Waste Management; Waste Trafficking; and Food Waste.

 

This meeting is closed meeting for members of ISWA Board and STC.

The host is ISWA’s National Member in South Africa, The Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA).
